Ron Ashkenas in his 2013 article titled How to Preserve Institutional Knowledge highlights the role of building “an explicit strategy for maintaining institutional memory”. The words of Ashkenas nicely summarize the main reason why we decided to prepare a practical guide, “Instructors’ Booklet”. We believe having such a guide will replace “the informal, people-based institutional knowledge that is so critical to organizational effectiveness” with a commonly shared procedures and principles, and thus will contribute to the highest ethical and professional standards MLD practices.
